(Last Update 10-09-04)Comings and Goings
Due to a healthy workload in the Survey Department, we have added a couple of new employees. They are:
William (Bill) E. Whitney, Jr. - Instrument Operator Bill lives in Acworth, GA. He comes to us with an electrical background, and is excited about learning surveying and making it his new career. Bill attended California State University. He has started out as an instrument person, and has already worked with several of our crews in the survey department.
Jeffery (Jeff) Woodall - Instrument Operator Jeff resides in Acworth, GA as well. Jeff has a varied background, including utility location and mapping services and military service. (He rode a submarine in the Navy!) He attended and graduated from Mercer University with a degree in Electrical Engineering Specialty. Jeff has also started out as in instrument operator in our survey department.
Due to some changes in the R/W Department, we now have a new crew leader:
Scott Trowbridge - Survey Crew Leader Scott resides in Tucker, GA. Scott begins work next Monday, and will be operating a R/W crew for us. Scott brings a survey background to our company, including assignments with Aracadis, Riley Park Hayden, Romco Services, and other companies. He has been in surveying for about 25 years, and has just about seen it all.
When you meet any of our new folks, introduce yourself and welcome them on board!
Others in our company have chosen to try a different route for their careers...
Fred Carlson will be leaving us this coming Friday... he says he's hasn't accepted another position and is planning to just take a break from the grind. When you see Fred, wish him well in his new endeavors, whatever they may be. You'll be missed Fred!
Rick and Cathy Weatherly have decided to start their own company! Their last day was last Thursday. Their first project with their new company will be to handle all the construction layout for a major road improvement project near their home up in Clayton, GA. I plan on circulating a card this week for us all to sign wishing them well in their new adventure.
Kenny McCourt was one of the instrument operators on Rick and Cathy's crew. He has decided to take the leap with Rick and Cathy, so he'll be departing our company as well. Good luck Kenny!
We're sorry to lose these folks... they were all great employees and will be missed. Thanks to all of you for your years of service to GeoSurvey.
On another note, Bob Manoogian, who also worked on Rick's crew, has elected to stay with us here at GeoSurvey. He will now be working with Scott Trowbridge and together they will be rebuilding our crew for our GPC/R/W work. Thanks for hanging out with us, Bob!
