Epic Floods Occur in Cobb County, GA

On September 22, 2009 Cobb County, GA (home of GeoSurvey)experienced floods of epic proportions, especially in the western and southern parts of the county.  These floods displaced many families throughout our county and set new records related to flood measurement in our area.

President Trent Turk predicted on his Facebook page regarding these floods that "I think we will find out in days to come that this flood will break all records available for Cobb County".  This prediction was confirmed later the same day by the U.S. Geological Survey through measurements taken from a series of stream gauges that measure the volume of flow of water.
